We had our final dinner last night in the back room of Postkantoor. As one might expect, it's bittersweet. I've been traveling with these people for 4 weeks now and know many of them well. Many are dear friends. I will continue to networks with many as we finish our degree program, write papers, and flex our newly-minted MLISs in the information-organization world. I like being with them.
At the same time, I miss my family and my home. I feel more strongly that I do not want to commute for work because I receive far more satisfaction from immersing myself in a place a project, and that is best done close to home.
That said, I like to travel and the occasional trip to immerse in an engrossing project is desirable. Maybe next time I'll bring my family.
